Mieczyslaw Bieniek
President of the Parachuting Section of WKS "Wawel" Krakow

Lieutenant General Mieczyslaw Bieniek received the nomination to the rang of a general from the hands of the President of the Republic of Poland on 14th August 2004. It took place on Bieniek's return from Iraq, where he commanded the Multinational Division Central-South. Before being called to this position, he assumed the post of the first deputy commander of the 3rd International NATO Corps in Istambul, Turkey, where he was responsible for training and exercise. Three years earlier, he became the head of a training and exercise division at NATO's Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium, and organised manoeuvres of the Alliance, e.g., "Strong riposte", which took place in Poland. Commander of Nordycko-Polska Brigade in Bosnia. He also participated in international operations of the UN in Syria and in Western Sahara. Graduate of the Royal Academy of Defense Studies in Great Britain. Gen. Bieniek commanded the 6th Air Assault Brigade and then he assumed command of the 25th Air Cavalry Division in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. At present he commands the 2nd Corps in Krakow. One of the youngest Polish officers who received general's epaulettes (Brigadier from 1996). Gen. Bieniek has four children. His two older sons serve as officers in the 6th Air Assault Brigade, being parachute instructors. Gen. Bieniek is himself a certified parachuting instructor for the armies of Belgium, Germany, United States and Great Britain, all the time actively practising skydiving. By January 2012 Bieniek executed 3151 parachute jumps.

A head of the section - responsible for organizational issues and current activity of the section

He was born on 18 Maj 1970 in Elblag, where he lived until 1988. In 1988 he moved to Szklarska Poreba, and one year later we was admitted to the Mechanised Infantry Military Academy (WSOWZ) in Wroclaw. In the School, in 1992 he gained his first parachuting experience, executing jumps to obtain a military parachuting licence. After he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant he was appointed to the 6th Air Assault Brigade in Cracow. In 1995, having 14 jumps he was admitted to the WSOWZ in Wroclaw for training for parachuting instructors. In July 1997 he became a member of the Parachuting Section of WKS "Wawel". In 1999 he was appointed a head of the section. To June 2010 he served in SGSP of the 6th Air Assault Brigade, from July 2010 until now he serves in the Support Training Platoon of the 6th Airborne Brigade. By January 2012 he executed 3132 jumps.
